Some Lender Options to Consider ...but not all!

Calculating a fixed-rate mortgage is a snap; but calculating a variable rate loan is a bit trickier.  Factoring in down payments, points, closing costs, closing fees and other transaction fees gets pretty complex in a hurry.  The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS has a brochure you should read about specialty mortgages.  Why not get the information you want direct from the source; the person who will be writing the check at closing?  Ask your favorite lender for a Good Faith Estimate of Funds Needed to Close.

If you are short on funds and savings, and you fit other criteria, you should see the program information on Nehemiah and AmeriDream homebuyer assistance programs.  Both are excellent programs if you qualify, but you can't use both! 

Below are several local lending institutions (but not all) that make mortgage loans.  Please call or visit your favorite lender soon and become pre-approved for a mortgage.  Pre-approved means your lender is willing to make the loan when we find your next home.  It's always best to get this done early in the whole home buying process.  Here is one very good reason why you should get pre-approved.  

I personally do not recommend use of Internet Lenders, and here are a couple of reasons why.  I also like the idea of local lenders providing services to hometown folks.  There is no substitute for being able to visit a lender's office and talk about financing face to face.  You are certainly welcome to use any lender you choose.
